Julian Brown
Mark, Here's a picture of my second-place finish in the small town circuit of the Seaford Two Day Omnium. It's actually two races, a 20 mile circuit race (20 one mile laps around a small town circuit) and a 60 mile road race.  While I did get second in the circuit race (pictured), I didn't finish top 20 in the road race (it was a crazy mass sprint).  My circuit race high finish was a bit of a surprise because I was out of position going into the last turn, so I started my sprint far right from the peloton -- when we made the left turn home, we had 200 yards to go and I almost pulled off a big coup.  (These races are more often won by a rider sitting about fifth going into a turn).  You can tell I am very tired because I am seated in the sprint and everyone else is riding from a "standing" sprinting position.
I gave up bike racing to get back to owning horses again, as Black & Tan Stable!  I also attached a recent winner from Black & Tan Stable, Lady Outflanker!

Mark responds: Julian is very competitive and prefers win betting, but if you bet him to place in his bicycle races in large fields, you'd have made some money, (Too bad there was no pari-mutuel betting.)

Mark, I went 380 miles roughly, taking the following path: Schenectady to Lake
Luzerne, to Warrensburg, to Keene Valley, to Saranac Inn, to Lewey Lake, to Saratoga Springs.

There were some serious travails, in addition to the predictable ones like climbing mountains and riding 89 miles in one day, namely, the Hurricane and its effects. I had to stay in a motel that day because of heavy, heavy rains and 30mph winds. Then, in the middle of nowhere, as it was getting dark, I came to a bridge that had collapsed and had to wade through a shallow river carrying my bike and gear to get across! That was not a very smart decision, haha.
